How Does Mercari Shipping Work?

As a seller on Mercari there are 3 ways to ship an item, through Mercari prepaid labels, ship on your own, or Pack and Ship.

When you choose to receive a Mercari Prepaid label you can offer the buyer free shipping or the buyer can pay for shipping. Mercari offers low, fixed rates with USPS or FedEx for packages weighing up to 150 lbs.

When the buyer pays for shipping, the seller is required to enter the weight, including packing materials, as well as the dimensions of the package to determine the cost and options for shipping.

If you choose to offer free shipping to your buyer the cost of the prepaid label will be deducted from the cost of the sold item.

Ship on your own allows you to offer free shipping on your listings, however it will require that you purchase postage through other means. You will be required to upload a valid tracking number when you ship on your own.

Pack and Ship is a packaging service offered through The UPS Store. Just take the item to a The UPS Store location. The UPS Store Certified Packing Experts® will package your item and ship it for you. This is suitable for items that are big, bulky, fragile, or intricate. This option is only available when the seller pays for shipping.
