1- What is Poshmark?
Poshmark is an online marketplace, where users can buy and sell women’s, kids’ and men’s fashion and accessories, new personal care products, select home goods, select pets’ items, and select electronics.
The social aspect of Poshmark makes it different than the other online marketplaces such as eBay, Mercari, and Etsy.
Poshers (Poshmark users) need to follow each others profiles, share their closets, and share each others listings regularly to reach a special social status in the platform (Posh Ambassador), and increase their chances to make sales.
1-1: What is a Posh Ambassador?
Posh Ambassadors are role models in the Poshmark community. They achieve their status by maintaining an active closet, participating in the Poshmark community, providing great customer service, and keeping their closets and activities in the marketplace in good standing with the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
Once a posher becomes an ambassador, a badge appears in their closet and About page, making them easy to identify.
2- Is Poshmark Legit?
YES. Poshmark is a legitimate business.
Headquarters: Redwood City, California, United States.
Revenue: On May 12, 2022, POSHMARK (NASDAQ: POSH) reported Q1 2022 revenue of $90.90 million.
Number of Employees: 501.
2.1- Can you get scammed on Poshmark?
Poshmark is a legitimate business and a safe platform to buy and sell online, but because it is a marketplace, poshers should always be aware of scams.
Poshmark has buyer and seller protection policies in place to protect its users from getting scammed.
Tips:
– Never deal with other poshers outside of the platform.
– Report any potential scam immediately.
– Open a claim within 3 days of receiving your purchase if you believe the item to be fake or is not as described.
– Never disclose any personal information.
3- Where to get items to sell on Poshmark?
It is important to start with your closet at home to get rid of clothes and accessories that you don’t use anymore. That will help you learn how the Poshmark marketplace works and decide if you want to use the platform for personal use or to become a part time or full time seller with the intention of making money.
To make money on Poshmark, a posher should first find good quality merchandise at a good price to add to their closet regularly. Some ideas of where you can find items to sell:

- The photos should show the item clearly to the potential customer, to increase your chances of making a sale and avoiding a return.
- The description should convince the potential buyer to purchase the item, so make sure to add all the keywords that describe the item (brand, gender, size, color, condition…) and any flaws that the item may have.
- Your price should be reasonable (Check the prices of your competition).
5- Who pays for shipping on Poshmark?
The buyer pays the shipping fee (Flat rate of $7.67 for expedited shipping) as long as the total weight of the order does not exceed 5 lbs.
The seller assumes the cost of shipping when they offer free shipping to buyers and part of the cost of shipping when they offer a discounted shipping price to buyers. Sellers also pay for any overweight shipping costs when the total weight of the order exceeds 5 lbs.
5.1- What happens if a seller doesn’t ship on Poshmark?
Sellers must ship sold items to their buyers using the pre-paid Priority mail shipping label provided by Poshmark within five days after receiving the shipping label. Most sellers on the platform ship within 2 days of purchase to keep their customers happy.
When a seller is unable to ship within 3 days of receiving the shipping label, Poshmark recommends that the seller requests a new shipping label to avoid any problems with USPS shipping.
The buyer can request to cancel an order if the seller hasn’t shipped an order after 7 days.
Poshmark protects buyers every time they place an order. When a buyer doesn’t receive an item they’ve purchased, Poshmark refunds their payment. Buyers can check the status of their orders by going to My Purchases > Select the purchase.

7- How do you get paid on Poshmark?
Once a buyer receives and accepts an item, Poshmark automatically deposits the earnings into the seller’s account.
The seller decides to use their earnings as a credit in the platform, or request a direct deposit (which takes 2 to 3 business days) or a check (which takes 8 to 10 business days).

10- Tips
To make money selling on Poshmark, don’t waste your time on useless strategies circulating online and focus on what can help you succeed:
- Make sure that reselling online is your passion, because thrifting, listing, and customer service can be hard most of the time.
- Search Poshmark for brands that sell fast. Search your local area for sources where you can find those brands at a reasonable price. Focus on quality if you don’t want to end up with an inventory of hundreds or thousands of items that don’t sell.
- Try to list regularly to keep your closet active and offer your buyers more options. Listing everyday can help your items rank high in the search.
- Improve your listings with better photos, keyword focused titles and descriptions.
- Make sure you price your items right, not too high to be able to compete with other sellers, but not too low to cover your cost and fees so you can make a profit.
- Offer good customer service by answering your potential buyers questions fast, making offers and accepting offers from buyers when they are reasonable.
