Listing an item on Mercari is always free.

The selling fee is just 10% of the listing price. (10% Flat Fee is taken by Mercari when a sale transaction is complete. No hidden fees).

Your earnings equal the listing price minus the selling fee. If you offer your buyer free shipping, your earning from the sale of an item will equal the listing price minus the selling fee and cost of shipping.

Update (October 2020)

Mercari charges a 10% fee when an item sells (beginning October 1, 2020, all new listings on Mercari will include a 2.9% + $0.30 payment processing fee when the item sells).
